Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), Dotter Department of Interventional Radiology, the birthplace of Interventional Radiology, invites applications for a full-time Interventional Radiology faculty position as Section Chief of Interventional Radiology, Body IR. This department has clinical sections at the main campus in Body IR and Neuro IR, and two additional sections serving area contracted hospitals and the Portland Veterans Administration.
The Dotter Department of Interventional Radiology is a fully independent academic department within the OHSU School of Medicine, with its own admitting service, outpatient clinics, and comprehensive procedural practice. The Body IR section at OHSU performs over 5,000 cases per year with a high case-mix complexity and consistent year over year growth. This section is engaged in the full gamut of IR care. Our faculty provide the full spectrum of diagnostic angiography, interventional radiology, and interventional oncology services.
Candidates will have access to state-of-the-art laboratory, robust computational and clinical trial infrastructure, and multidisciplinary collaborations across OHSU and affiliated research institutes.
Position Highlights: Support the overall body IR practice including inpatient services, trauma, peripheral arterial disease, PE interventions and portal hypertension/TIPS with an emphasis on running clinical operations of the section. The department operates a full-service inpatient consultation service as well as an outpatient clinic service for new consultations and follow up. In addition to excellence in clinical care and teaching, the successful candidate should demonstrate a strong commitment to academic interventional radiology and research.
The faculty member will participate in:
- Clinical Care: Clinical duties include the full range of body IR diagnostic and interventional procedures, outpatient clinical practice, and care of IR inpatients.
- Academic Environment: Contribute to our mission through teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows, empowering the next generation of IR leaders.
- Research: The department runs a dedicated 10,000 sq/ft translational research facility and is also very active in clinical research with several collaborative clinical trials. Requirements
Required Qualifications
- MD/DO or equivalent
- Eligibility for subspecialty certification in Vascular or Interventional Radiology (VIR) by the American Board of Radiology
- Positive track record in programmatic leadership growing clinical practice
- Demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration
- Eligibility for Oregon medical licensure
- Commitment to academic medicine and team-based care
